YEA MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Youth Education in the Arts is to support the development of young people into magnificent human beings through participation in the performing aarts. YEA affords young members the opportunity to participate in some of the most prestigious events in the world. Each year YEA members participate in numerous high profile ceremonies celebrating sporting events and political inaugurations as well as movie premieres and television commercials. YEA performers have performed with recording acts such as Shania Twain and Destiny's Child; appeared on MTV, the Late Show with David Letterman, and the Today Show; and have been featured performers in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. YEA ensembles have also performed for professional sports teams including the New York Jets, New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets.
In the organization's illustrious history, YEA performers have had the unique experience to appear most notably at the Summer Olympic Games, the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, the World Cup, and other notable national and international sporting events.
While amassing a long and storied tradition, YEA groups have been recognized as World Champions in various disciplines. Over 750 members have had the experience of winning gold medals for their performances, quite possibly an honor they would not be able to realize in any other part of their lives.
YEA invites the world of tomorrow and makes
a huge difference in the lives of thousands of young people each year.
Within the programs of YEA, young people gain an edge. They learn to
cooperate, set goals, work long and hard, and they learn what it takes to be
successful!
