Adam Freeman

Hackettstown Middle School Director of Bands

Adam Freeman begins his first year directing the instrumental music program at Hackettstown Middle School in 2006.  He is a graduate of William Paterson University, with a bachelor of music with an education certification.  His main focus has been in brass with a concentration in euphonium and tuba, and he has played with various ensembles such as the Legion of Lows Tuba / Euphonium Quartet, The High Mountain Symphony, and the William Paterson Wind Ensemble.

Serving as the brass technician with the world famous Hawthorne Caballeros, Adam will be able to draw on his vast background in marching as he comes to Hackettstown.  Beginning as a member in 2000, he has had the pleasure of winning two brass championships, one in 2000 and one in 2003, along with a world championship while with the Caballeros in 2003.  He then pursued a career with the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps in 2004 and 2005, and was with the Cadets in 2005 when they won their 9th championship, winning all awards; high brass, percussion, color guard, and general effect; and tying for the highest score in drum corps international history.

Adam has taught and consulted with numerous bands in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, most notably, the Ramsey High School Band and Guard of Ramsey, NJ, and the West Essex Marching Knights of Caldwell, NJ.

He is a brother in the Phi Mu Alpha National Male Music Fraternity and a member of the Music Educator's National Convention. , two organizations which promote music in the community.
