MARCH BAND JOKE: IN MARCH WE'RE PICKING ON DRUMMERS, DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY KIDS!

Q: What do you do with someone who can't play an instrument?
A: Give them a pair of drumsticks!

Q: What's the best way to confuse a drummer?
A: Put a sheet of music in front of him.

Q: What do you call someone who hangs out with musicians?
A: A drummer.

Q: Why are orchestra intermissions limited to 20 minutes?
A: So you don't have to retrain the drummers.

Q: What did the drummer get on his IQ test?
A: Drool.

And last but not least: What do you do with a horn player that can't play?
A: Give him two sticks, put him in the back, and call him a percussionist.

And what do you do if he can't do that?
A: Take away one of the sticks, put him up front, and call him a band director!

ATTENTION ALL HHS BAND STUDENTS!! The spring Mother's Day HANGING BASKET FLOWER SALE has been extended through Monday, April 28. Pick up forms in the band room or send an email to hhstigerbands@verizon.net Flowers/Baskets will be available for pick-up on Thursday, May 8, from 3-7:00 PM; just in time for Mother's Day on May 11. Each student's proceeds goes into their own band account to be used for band camp, band trips, etc., so get out there and get busy selling! Contact Mrs. Murray at 908-399-4218 or by email at hhstigerbands@verizon.net for more information.

The 22nd Annual Band Booster Tricky Tray is done and put to bed. Receipts and contributions are still coming in, and totals are still being tabulated, but a big THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered their time and generosity. Join us at the May Band Booster meeting on May 13th as we dissect the event in preparation to, yes, begin planning for next year's tricky tray! And we have more fun and games coming your way in the near future, so keep your eyes open and get ready to join in on the fun, and WATCH THE CALENDAR for upcoming events including the 2008 Spring Bands Concerts, the 2008 Band Awards Night, and more!

*** WE REGRET THAT WE CANNOT ACCEPT LASER PRINTER CARTRIDGES IN OUR DRIVE! As a matter of thumb, if the cartridge does not fit in the palm of your hand, PLEASE DO NOT turn it in; because laser cartridges contain hazardous chemicals, they cannot be recycled and we MUST return them to their maker, thus cutting in to our profits! *** THANK YOU!!

MARCHING BAND MEMBERS and COLOR GUARD! Due to popular request, practices for the Memorial Day Parade have been moved to Fridays during May. ALL PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY, so contact Mr. Argenziano if you cannot make it for some strange unknown reason... although who in their right mind would want to miss anything Marching Band related??

Hey band members! Have you been participating in the various fundraisers? You can get an up-to-date accounting, pardon the pun, of your student account balance by simply emailing our treasurer at hhstigerbands@verizon.net with the word, "treasurer", or the name, "Nadine", in the subject line, and your request will be automatically forwarded to Nadine Cory, our treasurer. Remember Seniors, any funds not used for music related trips can be used for your graduation items, and you should begin contacting Mrs. Corey to let her know how you want to use your account money and how you prefer to have the un-used portion of your account dispersed at the end of the school year.

WE'RE STILL ON THE PROWL... FOR TIGER BAND ALUMNI!

That's right, we're in the process of attempting to start the first HHS Band Alumni Association and we're searching for former HHS band members to help us get things underway. Can you help us out? THANK YOU to all of the band kids and parents who helped us provide a record 11 food baskets to the December Norwescap Food Drive! Our community does a lot for us, and it was really nice for us to be able to give something back! And we'll be doing a lot more in the future, so get ready.
